When I got it the car had
only 63,000 miles, since then I have put about 30,000 miles on it. The
car was also repainted the original Firethorn Red, with white
pin-stripes. The interior is white, bucket seats with console shifter.
During the winter of 1997 I transplanted a 1968 455 into it along with a
th-400 transmission, this combo replaced the stock 260 v-8 and th-350
trans. The engine was a basic rebuild, about 9:1 compression and the
edelbrock performer package, which includes the cam, 750 cfm carb, and
intake manifold. The transmission was also rebuilt, with a B&M
transpak/shiftkit, and a higher stall torque converter from Protorque.
I am currently running the original 10 bolt rear with 2:73 gears, but it
will soon be changed for a 3:73 ring and pinion and posi unit. Future
plans call for a complete suspension rebuild with parts from Performance
Suspension Technology.
