The Story : This car has been in my family since new. My dad bought it in 1994 (yes, it was my father's Oldsmobile ) on a trade in of our beloved '86 Regency (which had 220,000 miles on it!). A few years later, my dad bought himself a Saab 900, and gave me the Achieva.
It's a 2 door coupe with manual transmission. The manual trans. was only available along with the High Output Quad4 engine option. This little 4-cyl puts out 175HP (down 5 HP from the '93 model), and puts many v-6s and some v-8s to shame in street races. This is the rarer version of the SC, as the majority of this trim line came with the 3.1L v-6 mated to an automatic transmission. The car is completely stock (so far) with no alterations to either it's electronics, appearance, or mechanicals. I've had to do only routine maintenance so far (brakes, tires, tune-ups), so I'd say the car's reliability is on the positive side.
What I like about this car : Fun to drive; great acceleration; handling; good looks; nice gas mileage; it's very comfortable; it was free.
