This car was purchased in early 1991 after seeing it on the cover of Muscle
Car Review Magazine. I was in Austin, TX at the time I pulled the magazine
off the shelf and even though it was a Sunday afternoon, I felt impelled to
make the call to directory assistance and try and find this car in Carson
City, Nevada. Fate was meant to be, when the party at the other end picked up
and we started our conversation about the vehicle. I told them it was exactly
[the] car, right down to the colors, I had been waiting to find for years.
To make a long story short, I flew to Carson City a week later and we
negotiated and agreed upon a price. I had them ship the car to me a month
later.
The car has no power of any sort other than the standard 350hp, 400ci. No
brakes, steering or anything else, just raw Rocket muscle. It is equipped
with an M-20 4-speed, 3:43 gears. I have a correct set of D-Heads from a
1968 W-30 as well as all the correct W-30 OAI equipment to set it up in the
W-30 RAM Air configuration.
This car has brought me much fun and happiness as well as sentimental
value that goes back to my Senior High School days in 1968. I plan to keep it
for many years.
