My dad ordered a 1972 W30 new that I have now. The vehicle is all original except the paint. According to the order sheet he ordered it with the Y71 option - Outside Temperature Indicator. The color of the dial is black and the numbers on it are in white.

I have heard that the 73 and later ones got the white dial with the black numbers.
